24 Herbs – Hong Kong Kowloon

June 14, 2011

Validation

Wow, what an incredible good short film. “Validation” is a fable about the magic of free parking. Take your time and enjoy it.

Is Wall-E a MAC?

November 3, 2008

When I watched Disney Pixar’s Wall-E I recognised a familiar sound after the robot’s battery was completely charged.

So what version of Mac OS does Wall-E run? Firedragon-lizard-lion? 😉

Movietip: Joyeux Noël (Merry Christmas)

September 10, 2008

I know today is not Winter nor any special pre-Christmas day, but I saw the movie ‘Joyeux Noël‘(French for Merry Christmas) and I was really touched. As a fan of history I still didn’t
know much about these events.
Inspired by a true story, which happened on Christmas Eve 1914 during World War I, in many different places along the front line. Various front-line soldiers of the conflict peacefully met each other in No Man’s Land to share a precious pause in the carnage with a fleeting brotherhood. This film dramatizes one such section as the French, British and German sides partake in the unique event, even though they are aware that their superiors will not tolerate its occurrence. This movie has been nominated for an Oscar and should be seen by every one who still believes in humanity even during war time. Take a look here at the trailer:

Harold and Kumar poem

August 2, 2008

Last week I watched ‘Harold and Kumar’ cause I really liked the first movie. Anyway this movie was unfortunately kinda lame but had a nice poem scene. I admit it sounds very nerd-like but maybe this is the smartest poem I have heard so far.

I’m sure that I will always be
A lonely number like root three

The three is all that’s good and right,
Why must my three keep out of sight
Beneath the vicious square root sign,
I wish instead I were a nine

For nine could thwart this evil trick,
with just some quick arithmetic

I know I’ll never see the sun, as 1.7321
Such is my reality, a sad irrationality

When hark! What is this I see,
Another square root of a three

As quietly co-waltzing by,
Together now we multiply
To form a number we prefer,
Rejoicing as an integer

We break free from our mortal bonds
With the wave of magic wands

Our square root signs become unglued
Your love for me has been renewed

Meet the Spartans Tracks

March 30, 2008

Some weeks ago I watched the movie “Meet the Spartans”. Well, no questions about any deeper sense in this movie, but it was kinda funny though.
So maybe you noticed some songs and you liked them but you don’t really know their names.
Fortunately I faced the same problem and did some research.
Here you go 🙂

The song you can hear at Carmen’s dance scene is the MSTRKRFT Remix of D.A.N.C.E by Justice.
In case you don’t find it online simply download the MP3 file through right-clicking on the following link and select save as.
